In a harrowing case from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Rajiv miraculously survived after allegedly being attacked by his in-laws and abandoned in a forest to die. Rajiv, a personal assistant at Navodaya Hospital, was found with multiple fractures by a passerby, who alerted authorities and arranged emergency medical aid.

The shocking incident took place within the Izzatnagar police limits and has deeply shaken the community. According to police reports, Rajiv’s wife Sadhana allegedly plotted his murder with her five brothers, including Bhagwan Das, Premraj, Harish, and Laxman.

On July 21, a group of 11 men stormed Rajiv’s rented residence in the city, where he lived with Sadhana and their two sons, Yash (14) and Luv (8). He was brutally beaten—suffering fractures to his arms and legs—and taken to a remote forest in CB Ganj, where the attackers dug a pit to bury him alive. Their plan was thwarted when a stranger suddenly appeared, forcing the attackers to flee.

Rajiv was found barely conscious and in agony, but thanks to the bystander’s intervention, he was quickly hospitalized. His father, Netram, filed a First Information Report (FIR), accusing Sadhana and her brothers of attempting to kill his son.

The couple, married since 2009, had ongoing tensions, reportedly over Sadhana’s reluctance to live in the village. The police have launched an investigation, and arrests are likely as the probe deepens.
