A tragic incident was reported from Chennur mandal in Telangana, where a 50-year-old woman died of electrocution while drying clothes at her house.
The victim, identified as Medanoni Jyothi, was electrocuted on Tuesday morning when she came into contact with a live current while handling a clothesline.
Fatal contact with live wire
According to police, an electrical wire was in contact with the tin roof of her house, and the clothesline she used was made of iron. When Jyothi stepped out around 9:30 am to dry clothes, she touched the wire and was instantly electrocuted.
She died on the spot before any help could reach her.
Police action and aftermath
Officials from Chennur police station said that the electricity supply was immediately disconnected following the incident. The body was later shifted to the government hospital for further procedures.
Jyothi had lost her husband around 10 years ago and is survived by two daughters and a son.

The incident highlights the dangers of exposed or poorly maintained electrical wiring, especially in residential areas. Authorities have urged residents to ensure proper insulation and avoid using metal wires for household purposes like clotheslines.
