A 21-year-old man was found unconscious in the Govindpura area late on Sunday night and later died during treatment at hospital, prompting police to register a case of unnatural death and launch an investigation into the circumstances leading to his demise.
Collapsed after phone call for help
The deceased has been identified as Mohan Ahirwar (21), a native of Sehore district. He was living in rented accommodation in the Lalghati area of Bhopal and worked as a driver. According to police officials, Mohan made a distress call to his maternal uncle from Vijay Market on Sunday night, complaining of severe dizziness and rapidly deteriorating health.
Alarmed by the call, the uncle rushed to Vijay Market, where he found Mohan lying unconscious on the roadside. He was immediately shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal for emergency medical care.
Suspected poisoning, cause yet to be confirmed
Despite doctors’ efforts, Mohan succumbed early Monday morning. Police officials said there were preliminary indications that he may have consumed a poisonous substance, though no conclusion has been drawn at this stage.
“The exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report is received,” a police officer said, adding that all possibilities are being examined.
Police begin investigation
A case of unnatural death has been registered, and statements of family members and others who last interacted with the युवक are being recorded. Investigators are also trying to trace his movements on Sunday evening to establish what led to his sudden collapse.
The incident has left the family in shock and raised concerns over unexplained medical emergencies among young working individuals. Police have assured that a thorough probe will be conducted once forensic and medical reports are available.
