Guntur, Andhra Pradesh — A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Guntur district when Cheeli Singaiah, a 54-year-old loyal supporter of the YSR Congress Party, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in the convoy of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The tragic accident took place near Yetukuru village as Jagan Mohan Reddy was heading to Rentapalli to unveil a commemorative statue. Reports suggest that Singaiah attempted to offer flowers to the leader’s car as a gesture of admiration. In doing so, he slipped and tragically came under the wheels of one of the vehicles, resulting in his untimely death.

A graphic video of the accident has been circulating on social media, drawing widespread outrage and sorrow from the public and political circles alike.

Authorities revealed that while only three vehicles had been granted official permission to accompany the convoy, over 30 vehicles were actually present during the procession. This discrepancy has triggered serious concerns regarding security lapses and negligence.

The Guntur Superintendent of Police and Inspector General have initiated a formal investigation to determine responsibility and examine how unauthorized vehicles were allowed into the convoy. A case has been registered, and inquiries are ongoing.

This unfortunate event has cast a shadow over the rally and raised urgent questions about crowd safety during political events.
