In a dramatic rain-related incident on Tuesday, a house in Alloor B village, Chittapur taluk, Kalaburagi, was extensively damaged when boulders from a nearby hillock crashed into it. The house, owned by Channappa Boli, was struck by the falling rocks due to the continuous heavy rainfall that has battered the region over the past few days.
The impact of the boulders led to the complete collapse of the house structure, resulting in the destruction of the homeowner’s belongings. Despite the severe damage, there were no reported fatalities. A young boy who was inside the house at the time of the incident sustained minor injuries but was otherwise unharmed.
Local officials from the Revenue and Police Departments arrived at the scene to assess the extent of the damage. The financial loss for Channappa Boli is expected to be significant, reflecting the severe consequences of the relentless rainfall and the resulting natural hazards in the area. The incident underscores the urgent need for effective measures to address and mitigate the impact of heavy rains and related natural disasters.
