In a tragic case from Arabommanahalli in Sedam taluk, Basavannappa Biradar, a local resident, reportedly took his own life after alleged harassment over property. On October 19, Biradar consumed pesticide and was initially treated at the Sedam Taluk Government Hospital. As his condition worsened, doctors recommended transferring him to a private hospital in Kalaburagi; however, he passed away en route.
According to Biradar’s father, Channabasappa Biradar, the alleged harassment stemmed from ongoing disputes over property. He has accused Gowramma, his daughter-in-law, and her elder brother, Jagannath, of pressuring and emotionally tormenting his son to claim property rights, which he believes ultimately led to the suicide.
A case has been registered, and authorities are investigating the allegations. This incident highlights the distressing impact of familial conflicts over property and the urgent need for intervention to prevent such tragedies.
