Muslim leaders are furious about their lack of MLC nomination. Hubballi: The son of Dilshad Begum Nadaf, a corporator for ward No. 6 Congress, and former corporator Yaseen Haveripet both expressed dissatisfaction with the Congress party’s decision to not select any Muslim politician from North Karnataka for the MLC polls.

Speaking with reporters, they stated: “Ismail Tamatagar’s rejection as an MLC hurt Dilshad Begum. She will tender her resignation to the HDMC commissioner and has already sent a letter to Altaf Hallur, the president of Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagar Zilla Congress.”

Haveripet suggested that the party propose an MLC candidate who is a Muslim leader from Hubballi-Dharwad. He claimed, without naming anyone, that additional corporators will quit as a result of local leader Ismail Tamatagar’s rejection as an MLC.
