IM Viani Antonio D’Cunha participant at Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival

Abu Dhabi: The 28th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival has begun here on Wednesday August 17.

Viani Antonio D’Cunha from Dakshina Kannada District in the State of Karnataka with 2327 points and ranked 89 is the participant at the tourney. He is the International Master (IM) from Dakshina Kannada. He achieved the IM title at the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival held in 2016.

He is also a chess coach and recipient of Ekalavya Award in 2011, the highest Sports Award in the Karnataka State.

The tournament is a nine rounds Swiss System with a time control of 90 mins for each player and 30 seconds’ increment. 30 minutes tolerance is applied.

The tournament will be on till Thursday August 25.
