Mangaluru: The second season of Amazing Stories of Village TV was premiered on Saturday July 23 at 10.30 am IST.
The guest of the first episode was Jayanth Kumar, Proprietor, JK & Associates, Ground Water Management & Rainwater Harvesting Consultant. The host of Amazing Stories was Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida.
The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
“The compulsion rule on rainwater harvesting had led people take up unscientific measures in order to abide by the rules. It resulted in the chaos of lack of water in the surroundings where soak pit was constructed. The best exposure I got to solve certain issues was obtained in Mangaluru and so I landed in Mangaluru from Bengaluru,” said Jayanth Kumar.
Sharing the work of J&K Associates in advising and planning on the scientific ways of rain water harvesting and ground water management Jayanth Kumar also shed light on several aspects which has to be adopted in making and implementation of underground water systems.
“The government have 18 per cent GST put on rain water harvesting with no subsidy and so no citizen will come forward to implement the plan and so I wish Government to adopt Telangana model in rainwater harvesting scheme.”
“An initiation towards water management is beneficial to surrounding two and half kilometres and so people have to think on investment in such areas,” he suggested.
Valerian Dalmaida wishing good luck signed off the first session.
