Teaching is the greatest pleasure to me: Nelly Rego

Dubai: The newskarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was telecast on Sunday October 3 at 8.00 pm.

The series that showcases teachers and the influence they have had on students through teacher-student interaction broadcasted live on YouTube on youtube.com/newskarnataka. The event was hosted by Spearhead Media Group Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida, and co-host Rajesh Sequeira.

The special guests of the programme were Nelly Rego, the teacher, Anil Periera Co-founder of MyUdhan, Dr. Chintan Hegde Orthopaedician, Dr. Jagadeesh Damodaran, Dentist and Jaypal Concessao, Retail Professional.

In the beginning host CA Valerian Dalmaida introduced the teacher Nelly Rego and co-host Rajesh introduced all the students.

Nelly Rego sharing her experience as teacher said, “I served as teacher at Holy Family School for past 34 years and now I am retiered from my profession but I am in regular touch with my students. I have come from teacher’s family, and my role model was my maternal grandfather who was headmaster in the school. Many of our family members are in this profession till today. I am very much happy for being a teacher because it is a holy profession. My students recognise me wherever I go eventhough I sometimes can’t recollect or remember their names”.

And also she said that, ”I got the privilege to teach the  children of my students, it is the greatest pleasure to me.”

Sharing his experience with Nelly miss, one of her students Jaipal said, “she is very friendly in nature, eventhough she is a teacher she used to sorry to us in some situations, and also she is famous for her simplicity.’ Anil Periera said “she is a very good human being. Nelly madam is like a coconut, very strict from the outside but she has a very kind heart.”

Meanwhile Dr. Jagadeesh Damodaran  said, “I am not getting any words to explain about Nelly miss. She is a bundle of humanity and caring nature. Although I was an average student she had great affection towards me, and she is very precious to me.”

Lastly Dr. Chintan Hegde said, “Namaste Teacher is an interesting concept to felicitate the teacher, and also it is a good platform to bring teacher and students together after many years.”

Both students and teacher recalled their school life and became excited. Students reminded their teacher the mischievous things they did during their school days.

While signing off, all the students wished their teacher again and extended best wishes to Newskarnataka for hosting programmes like Namaste Teacher.
