
Karkala’s Dr Shreesh Shetty Wins Rs 12.5 Lakh on KBC
Dr Shreesh Sathish Shetty, originally from Ninjoor Moodumane in Karkala taluk, clinched Rs 12.5 lakh on the renowned quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), aired on Sony TV. He successfully answered 12 questions during the episodes that were broadcast on October 10 and 11, 2024.
The question that prompted him to walk away with his winnings was about the Member of Parliament for the Mumbai Northeast Lok Sabha constituency in 1971. The choices given were General K M Cariappa, Vijaya Tendulkar, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and Raj Kapoor. Unsure of the correct answer, Dr Shreesh opted to exit the game, securing a prize of Rs 12.5 lakh.
Dr Shreesh is the son of Shrivalli Shetty, hailing from Palli Ninjoor Moodumane, and Sathish Shetty from Suratkal. He currently resides in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. After obtaining his MBBS degree from GMERS Medical College, Vasad, Gujarat, he is now pursuing his MD at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, aiming for a bright future in the medical field.
This remarkable feat has brought pride to his hometown and his family. His win on KBC is not only a reflection of his knowledge but also a moment of celebration for his community.
