Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s New committee formed, at the threshold of Silver Jubilee Celebration

Doha, Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a prominent socio-cultural association under the aegis of the Indian Cultural Center, has entered its 25th year of establishment marking a significant milestone in the association’s history and has elected its new Managing Committee for the years 2024 and 2025.

On May 3rd, 2024, during the annual general body meeting held at the Indian Cultural Centre, Mr. Moodambailu Ravi Shetty was unanimously elected as the 14th President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar. The election took place in the presence of Sangha members, reflecting the community’s trust and confidence in Mr. Shetty’s leadership.

Mr. Ravi Shetty hails from Mangalore, Karnataka, and is a well-known figure in the Indian community in Qatar. His extensive experience in community service and leadership includes roles as a founding member, committee member, and president of various Karnataka-based associations. Additionally, he has served as an advisory committee member for the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and the Indian Business and Professionals Network (IBPN) under the Indian Embassy.

In his address to the gathering, Mr. Ravi Shetty expressed his gratitude to all the members for unanimously selecting and entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as President, especially during the momentous year of KSQ’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. He emphasized his commitment to furthering the objectives of Karnataka Sangha Qatar and fostering a sense of unity and cultural pride among its members.

The newly elected members of the management committee are, Mr. Ramesha KS (Vice President), Mr. Kumaraswamy (General Secretary), Mr. Pradeep Kumar Dileep (Treasurer), Mr. Dinesh Gowda (PRO & Benevolent Activities Secretary), Mrs. Soumya KT (Cultural Secretary), Mrs. Bhuvana Suraj (Ladies & Children Coordinator), Mr. Bheemappa Khot (Kannada Development Secretary), Mr. Sarfaraz Zafar Thambitkar (Sports Secretary), Mr. LG Patil (Joint Secretary), Mr. Shashidhara HB (Environment and Logistics Secretary), Mr. Sridhar Chandra (Media & Membership Secretary), Mrs. Bhavana Naveen (Joint Cultural Secretary) and Mr. Mahesh Gowda (Immediate Past President) as Chairman of the Advisory Committee.

The new Managing Committee is enthusiastically preparing for the grand Silver Jubilee Celebrations. A series of diverse and engaging programs are being planned to commemorate this landmark year including Environment Day, Blood Donation Camp, Ladies and Children Talent Hunt, Kannada Rajyotsava, Sports Tournaments, Festivals Celebrations, Cultural Conference, Medical Camp for Women and Children, Poetry Festival, etc. in grand scale.

Mr. Mahesh Gowda, the Immediate Past President, thanked all members and office bearers of the association for their support during the tenure of the 2022-2023 committee. He expressed his gratitude for the collective efforts that contributed to the association’s success and pledged his support to the new committee headed by Mr. Ravi Shetty.
