Karnataka Students To Shine At World Skills Competition In France

Nine talented students from Karnataka have been selected by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) to represent India at the 47th World Skills Competition, set to take place in Lyon, France, from September 10 to 15. The students, who are currently pursuing ITI, Diploma, and Engineering courses across various regions of Karnataka, will compete in 61 skill categories at this prestigious global event.

Prior to their departure, the students met with Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, the Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, and Raichur district in-charge, in Bengaluru. Minister Patil extended his heartfelt wishes for their success and encouraged them to excel and bring pride to both the state and the nation.

The World Skills Competition, often referred to as the “Olympics of vocational skills,” is the largest global event dedicated to vocational education and skill excellence. This year’s competition will feature over 1,000 young participants from around the world, all under the age of 22.

Karnataka’s robust skills base was highlighted by their impressive second-place finish at the national level during the India Skills competition in New Delhi earlier this year.

The occasion was graced by KSDC chairperson Kantha Naik, Karnataka Skill Development Authority chairperson Dr. V Ramana Reddy, KSDC managing director M Kanagavalli, GTTC managing director YK Dinesh Kumar, and NSDC advisor Venugopal.
