Mysuru's Diya Bheemaiah Selected For National Badminton Championships

Boppanda Diya Bheemaiah from Kodagu has been chosen to represent Karnataka at the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise 36th Sub-Junior National Badminton Championships in Chennai, running from October 20 to October 25. Competing in the U-17 category, Diya will participate in girls’ singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches.

In mixed doubles, she will team up with Amit Raj Natraj from Mysuru, while in girls’ doubles, she will partner with P. Varna from Tamil Nadu. Currently ranked No. 1 in the state, Diya is a student at Vidyashrama College in Mysuru, receiving coaching from Medura Arun Pemmaiah and her father, Boppanda Bheemaiah.

Hailing from Dechur in Madikeri, Diya is the daughter of Boppanda Kusuma and Boppanda Bheemaiah. Her participation in this prestigious event marks a significant milestone in her budding badminton career.
