A KKRTC bus traveling from Bengaluru to Ballari met with an accident on Sunday morning near Guggarahatti, located on the Halakundi bypass. The vehicle, part of the Siruguppa depot fleet, was carrying over 50 passengers when it overturned while trying to avoid a fast-moving truck. Fortunately, no lives were lost, and only three passengers sustained minor injuries. The bus was moving at a low speed when it tipped, resulting in limited damage.
Residents of the nearby Halakundi village reacted quickly, breaking the bus windows to assist in the evacuation of all passengers. Local police from both Ballari Traffic and Rural stations, alongside KKRTC staff, arrived promptly to manage the situation and ensure the safety of those involved. The timely response from the community helped prevent any major casualties.
