Bagalakote: “It is in the interest of the BJP Government that the lives of the farmers should always be green. Not a single acre of land in Bilagi Constituency will be completely irrigated to ensure that it is not deprived of irrigation. The farmers will be enriched by providing irrigation facilities, adequate electricity and remunerative prices, said Large and Medium Industries Minister Dr. Murugesh R. Nirani.

He was speaking after inaugurating projects to irrigate the lands of about 55 beneficiaries under the Special Component (SCP and TSP) scheme of the State Government for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in association with Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam and Minor Irrigation and Ground Water Development Department at his residence near Bilagi Cross in the District. “Already 1 lakh 25 thousand acres of land in Bagalakote, Bilagi and Badami Taluks have been newly irrigated through lyift Irrigation Scheme. In addition, 150 more borewells will be provided for irrigation through the Ganga Kalyana Project to improve the lives of the farmers. Everyone should come with an open mind and get relief no matter what work they have,” he said.
