Bagalkote: “The co-operative sector has a long history of 125 years and inspite of globalisation, liberalisation and competition from multinational companies, the co-operative sector is flourishing today, mainly because of Siddhanagouda Patil, the father of the co-operative, said Rona Co-operative Development Officer Prashanth Mudhol and described him as a legend of the Karnataka Co-operative Sector.
He was speaking on the theme ‘Contribution of Kannadigas to Co-operative Sector’ at a lecture programme organised by Kannada Sahitya and Cultural Forum at Byranahatti Doreswamy Virakta Matha. “The Cooperative Sector has the power to empower everyone on the basis of mutual cooperation and trust under the principle of being for everyone and everyone is for me. In Asia, Karnataka started this cooperation and Siddhanagouda Patil of Kanaginahal who laid the foundation for it.
He added, “Born in the General category, he said that his contribution to the Karnataka Co-operative Sector was immense.”
