Bagalakote: The Vajjaramatti-Halagali link road has been completely damaged, leaving commuters struggling to travel. There is a distance of 11 kms from Vajjaramatti to Halagali Village out of which 6 kms of Halagali beginning road is well-equipped. Another 5 kma of the road has been completely damaged. The bikers and the public are facing hazards to walk on the road too.

Knee-deep potholes have been created in the middle of the road, which has increased the movement of sugarcane-laden vehicles and heavy vehicles carrying guavas on this route. The drivers of the sugarcane transport vehicle on the pothole-ridden road are at risk. If big trucks filled with garbage come on the road, there will be no space for another vehicle. The public is of the opinion that if the road is widened and improved, it will benefit all kinds of motorists moving on this route.

If it rains, it is difficult to travel on this route. The potholes on the broken road have accumulated a lot of water and the rider does not see the road at all. Many bikers have fallen and got injured while travelling on such a road.

An estimated 1.5 kms of road repair works is underway adjacent to Vajjaramatti Village. The road from Kallukanti ditch to Halagali Village in the middle is also well-equipped. But the 4 kms between this has been completely damaged and the authorities are yet to take steps to repair the road.

The present road was constructed two years ago. But within three months of its construction, the road started getting damaged. It is unfortunate that the administrative machinery has not come forward to repair the dilapidated road.
