Belagavi: Rajanahalli Valmiki Jagadguru Prasannananda Swamiji said that the State Government’s decision to issue ST reservation certificates to many more communities for vote bank is a gross injustice to the real ST Community.

Addressing a preparatory meeting of The Rajanahalli Valmiki Jatra Mahotsava at Radderahatti Village near here on Tuesday November 15 and Valmiki Community Janajagruti meeting at Athani, he said that only Talavara, Parivara and Valmiki Samaja are eligible for ST reservation.

However, recently in Kalaburagi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary at Krishna Raitha Sabha Bhavana in Halyala in Athani Taluk were issuing certificates to non-ST communities like Koli, Kabbaliga, Gangamatha and Ambigas that they belonged to Talavara and Parivara Samajas.

On November 27, 15 MLAs and two MPs belonging to the ST Community will meet at Valmiki Sabha Bhavana in Rajanahalli to protest against the Government. The ST community has to be organised and aware that no one is swayed by the painted words of politicians. Devotees should participate in large numbers in Valmiki fair and bring glory, he said.
