Belagavi: Badami is geographically remote and I am not able to provide justice to the people there. Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah hence said that he was thinking of leaving the Constituency.

Speaking to mediapersons at Belagavi Airport, he said, “There is a lot of pressure to contest from Badami Constituency. Thousands of women have said they will protest in front of the house. Fans are writing letters. They are saying that even if you don’t visit the Constituency, it is okay. I don’t agree with that. Invitations have been received to contest from Kolar and Chamarajpete. My son is asking me to contest from Varuna. MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan is asking me to contest from Chamarajpete. However, I am bound by the decision taken by the party regarding my Constituency. A lot of people are inviting me even though there is no Constituency. The BJP has no intellect,” he said.

Siddu added, “C. M. Ibrahim is a good friend personally. But he went to the JD (S) and became the President there. Let him contest from Bhadravathi. The party decides where I should contest, not the JD (S). I’m not alone. Lakshmi Hebblikar, Anjali Nimbalkar, Feroz Sait, M.B. Patil and people of all religions and castes are with me. Janardhana Reddy has not discussed with me about joining the Congress,” he said.
