Belagavi: Police raids houses of over 26 rowdy-sheeters

Belagavi: Belagavi officers conducted a surprise raid at the residences of almost 26 rowdy sheeters in the city on the early morning of Wednesday June 29.

The operation was led by DCP Ravindra Gadadi. As many as 150 police officers raided the homes of 26 rowdy sheeters, including Altaf Subedar (36) of Khanjar Galli, Vinaya Shankara (45), of Mahadachar Road, and Sridhar S. Talavara (29), a resident of Rukmini Nagar at around 5.00 am.

They confiscated lethal weapons like swords, knives, and sickles from their residences among other things.

According to the police, these rowdy sheeters had been disrupting the city’s law and order and terrorising, sometimes even assaulting, the people.
