Belagavi: The reservation in education and employment sector is less as compared to the total population of the Vokkaliga Community, said Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar and added that a request has been made to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to increase the reservation.

Speaking to mediapersons here, he said that the reservation given in education and employment is not enough as compared to the population of Vokkaliga commyunity. Most of the Vokkaligas are farmers and contributing immensely to the country. For this, a request has been made to CM Bommai to take steps to increase the reservation. We have not asked for more reservation, it has been requested to be given only according to the population. There is no pressure here, he said.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai understands the need of all communities. He will give social justice to all, he said.

“The increase in reservation for SC/ST communities has been under discussion for a long time. But only Chief Minister has taken steps to make it a reality,” he said.
