Belagavi: MLA Ganesh Hukkeri said that today’s youth should imbibe the ideals of Santashresta Kanakadasa, who lived by showing the path of devotion to the entire world and join hands to build a stable society.
He was speaking after presiding over the Kanakadasa Jayanti programme of Santashreshta Kanakadasa organised jointly by the Taluk Administration, Taluk Panchayat, Municipality and Social Welfare Department. He said that there has been a demand for Kanaka Bhavana since many days and in the coming days, a hi-tech bhavan will be constructed to facilitate haalumata community.
Speaking as the chief guest, Municipal Corporation President Praveen Kamble said that everyone should read the literature of Kanakadasa, who instilled a sense of devotion among the people through keerthanas. Through it, we should strive to build a civilised country, he added.
Kurubara Samaja Leader Siddappa Rai requested for a special grant for the construction of Kanaka Bhavan in Chikkodi Town.
