Hubballi: Leaders of Hubballi Anjuman-e-Islam met with the family members of Neha Hiremath, who was brutally murdered by her classmate Fayaz Khondunaik within the premises of BVB College in the city last Thursday.

The leaders and members of the Muslim community condemned the heinous crime and offered condolences to the bereaved family. Anjuman-e-Islam President AM Hindasgeri stated that Fayaz should be severely punished. He emphasized that the police should conduct a thorough investigation to uncover any others involved in this heinous act. Hindasgeri advocated for the case to be expedited and resolved within 90 days by a FastTrack court. Additionally, he mentioned that Anjuman-e-Islam has requested that no advocate should represent Fayaz in court.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, on Sunday, quoted Neha Hiremath’s father, stating that the accused Fayaz attempted to convert Neha to the Muslim religion, but she did not agree, leading to her tragic death. Joshi also alleged that the entire state government is supporting Love Jihad, and the Congress may resort to any means to appease minorities or retain its vote bank. He expressed concern over the rise of communal forces in the state due to the Congress party’s appeasement politics.

Businessman Vijay Sankeshwar met with the family members of Neha Hiremath on Sunday, expressing his condolences and condemning the crime while embracing Neha’s father in tears.

Actor Pratham, winner of Bigboss, demanded that the murder case be transferred to a FastTrack court and urged for swift justice according to the law. He also called upon Union Minister Pralhad Joshi to exert pressure on the government to enact a law that facilitates quicker dispensation of justice. Additionally, Pratham criticized Fayaz’s parents for their role in his upbringing.

Hangal MLA Srinivas Mane condemned attempts to politicize Neha’s murder, asserting that it is wrong for some individuals to exploit such a tragic event for political gain.
