Dharwad: Former Education minister and MLC Basavaraj Horatti has taken strong exception to the remarks of BJP leader K.S. Eswarappa who allegedly said that BJP the would block the Belagavi session to seek the resignation of minister K.J. George.

“His statement implies a murder of democracy in the country which is condemnable,” Horatti said adding that the sessions are the platforms where the elected representatives can discuss about the problems faced by people and find solutions to them. However, Eshwarappa’s statement shows the ulterior motives of the BJP.

Since the CBI has been investigating DySP Ganapati case, one should not waste public money by trying to halt the Legislature session, he said.

“Being public representatives we all have responsibility to cater to the people’s needs by raising important issues lying unsolved for years. The BJP leaders should know that people are observing our moves, hence we should do our duties first,” he said warning the BJP that it will not be allowed to misuse the session as a platform for its gimmicks.
