Dharawad: The Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the State Budget for the year 2023 – 24 presented by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday February 17.

Speaking at a press conference, he said, “This is a balanced and far-sighted Budget. It is also a Budget for the development of the State. He said more funds have been given to many sectors including Agriculture, Industry, Education, Health, Tourism, etc.

In this Budget, 20% grant has been released for education It has also been announced to provide interest-free loans ranging from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh to farmers. A new revolution has been created in the Health Sector and about 428 ‘Namma Cinics’ have been asked to set up, 7 new Universities in the field of education, and one medical college, he said.

In this Budget Rs. 1,000 Crore has been announced for Mahadayi and Rs. 80 Crore for Kalasa-Banduri for North Karnataka. This will greatly benefit the farmers of this region, he said.

Emphasis has been laid on solving traffic problems. More funds have been released for the sewerage system. In addition to this, school children and youth have been encouraged in the Budget, he said and added that this Budget is a far-sighted one.
