Dharawad: BJP leaders Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, member of the BJP Central Parliamentary Board B. S. Yediyurappa, and state president Nalin Kumar Kateel will soon begin a tour in two teams that will visit 104 Legislative Assembly seats to gather support for their party ahead of the next Assembly election.

Starting on October 9, the team lead by Bommai and Yediyurappa will cover 52 Assembly segments, and a second team led by Kateel will begin touring the other 52 constituencies on September 27. Due to the rain, this tour’s scheduled start date was delayed until the second half of this month. “In the initial phase, these teams will cover 104 Assembly constituencies. There will be cover segments where BJP has won and defeated. They will visit constituencies in both northern and southern parts of the State,” said State BJP General Secretary Mahesh Tenginkai.

Bommai and Yediyurappa’s team would hold two public conventions every day in addition to beneficiary meetings.

Under Kateel’s leadership, the team would give more attention to the organisational aspects of the party and arrange meetings with party members and beneficiaries of government schemes. In light of the upcoming Assembly elections, Tenginkai added that the state BJP executive committee meeting, scheduled for October 7 in Bengaluru, will be crucial.

From October 6 to December 6, he claimed that various BJP morchas would hold six rallies at various places, with two rallies every month. According to Tenginkai, the parties’ farmers’ cell will organise the rally in Hubballi, while others would be held in Shivamogga, Raichur, Ballari, Mangaluru, and Bengaluru.
