Dharawad: In a Democratic set-up, the Federal System has its own respect. It is a matter of concern that the Maharashtra Government had flouted the rules of federalism and offered health services to villages bordering the State, said Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Addressing a press conference in the City, he said, “Despite all these developments, the State Government is silent and it seems that the Government is dead. The Central Government should immediately dissolve the Maharashtra Government, which is trying to bring about a breach in the federal structure. It was in 1966 that our State accepted the Mahajan Commission on the border issue. But the Maharashtrians have repeatedly made a name for themselves at the border. It is now planning to capture 866 more villages in State. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana has been announced. Despite all this, the Central and State Governments are silent and the Chief Minister of the State is silent. Is the Government dead in the State?, he asked.
“There are Kannadigas in Maharashtra as well. They express their willingness to come to our State. But will we be able to get them,” he said, adding that this is not a feature of the federal structure.
