Dharawad: As the Working Journalists’ Association strongly condemned the incident in which an inspector of Kalaghatagi Police Station assaulted a reporter of private news channel in Hubballi, Kalagahatgi Inspector S. S. Koujalagi acknowledged his mistake and apologised.

He also said that he would ensure that such an incident is not repeated again. However, the journalists demanded action against the erring officer. Senior Police Officers were busy in the election meeting and promised to take action within two days.

In this context, the officer who assaulted our fellow journalist has apologised and hence the protest has been curtailed, stated one of the journalists.
