Dharawad: Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj said that Rs. 9,000 Crore has been allocated for providing water in the State.
Speaking at the launch of the Continuous Drinking Water Project for Annigeri Town on Friday January 13, he said, “It is our prime duty to provide clean drinking water to every household under the Prime Minister’s ambitious scheme,” he said.
“In this regard, Rs. 9,000 Crore has been allocated under the AMRUT-II Scheme. He said that the project to provide water to the State at a cost has been approved and the problem of water scarcity will be solved.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, said Minister Byrathi Basavaraj has sanctioned Rs. 54,000 Crore for laying a pipeline for water supply.
He further said, “The Congress delayed getting early approval for the DPR. The Goa Congress got a stay on the canal we built from the Court. It was the UPA Government that took the issue of drinking water to the tribunal. The Forest Department’s approval will also be given. We will lay the foundation stone for the project before the announcement of the elections. This work should be done during the BJP regime. Others can’t do it,” he said.
