Dharawad: The District Unit of Zilla Panchayat, Department of Kannada and Culture and the State Government Employees’ Association along with various cultural art troupes toured the City and created awareness about voting.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Swaroop T. who launched the poll awareness cultural procession, spoke and said “Voting is a sacred right and every eligible voter should cast his vote on May 10 without fail.”
He said that efforts are being made by the District Sveep Committee to continuously create voter awareness through various programmes.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has allowed elderly voters and differently-abled voters to cast their votes from home so that they do not suffer due to physical difficulties. Accordingly, the District Election Commission has made necessary preparations, he said.
