Dharwad: Following the footsteps of the BJP and Congress parites, JD(S) too plans to go all-out in order to reach the voters and seek their solidarity towards the party.
The party has planned to launch a campaign christened ‘Mane Manege Kumaranna’, which would officially be launched in the Dharwad district on Nov 6.
Speaking to reporters, JD(S) City president Suresh Hiremath said that the party which has been trying to make inroads in north Karnataka, is trying to win maximum seats in north Karnataka in its bid to form the next government.
During this exercise, the JD(S) will try to reach the voters by going to their doorsteps and informing them about the pro-people programmes which were launched by the JD(S) State President HD Kumarswamy during his term as chief minsiter.
This campaign will be flagged off by MLC and former education minister Basavaraj Horatti on Nov 6.
Mr. Hiremath said that Mr. Kumarswamy has recovered from his illness and would begin his ‘yatra’ from this month end. He would be visiting all the assembly constituencies in Dharwad district, and would win the confidence of the voters.
This apart, the JD(S), to strengthen the party base, has formed more than 25 campaign units and 32 members each have been appointed to each unit.
“Each unit would be visiting two wards everyday and highlighting the good works of Mr. Kumarswamy,” he said.
JD(S) Vice-president Gururaj Hunasimarad said that the BJP and Congress MLAs who are in power, should be held responsible for the stunted growth of the twin cities. He also accused them of being too busy appeasing their high command and playing gimmicks to recapture their seats and as a result they are unable to focus on the development of the cities.
