Gadag: “In our Democratic set-up, the citizen is the Lord. Every citizen should come forward to strengthen the Democratic system by voting. In this regard, Zilla Panhayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Susheela B, who is also the Chairman of the District Committee, said that eveyone should register the names of the youth in the voters’ list and motivate them to exercise their right in a Democratic set-up.
Presiding over the District-level Committee Meeting held at the ZP Hall here on Saturday December 3, she said that a campaign and lightning registration drive is being carried out for the registration of the youth to be included in the voters’ list. In this process, eligible youth should register without fail, she said.
“Every eligible voter working in Government offices, aided societies, institutions and dealing in departments, associations, institutions will also have to complete the process of linking Aadhaar with their Voter ID Card. She suggested that this task should be carried out at the Departmental level officers at the earliest.
“Steps should be taken to effectively implement appropriate action plans for organising department-wise voter awareness programmes. She said that every step of the election process should be made told and that every eligible voter should cast his vote in the voting process by informing the voters about it,” he said.
