Gadag: Age bar job aspirants apply for euthanasia

Gadag: As many as 2,692 posts of Health Inspectors lying vacant in Primary Health Centres in the State have not been filled up for the last seven years, and many candidates who have crossed the age limit have applied for euthanasia.

There are 2,500 Primary Health Centres and 8,871 Sub-Centres in the State. A total of 8,871 posts are required as male Health Assistant for Sub-Centres.

However, before 2016, 5,827 posts were sanctioned and only 3,185 Health Assistants were working. Since 2016, the post of Health Inspector has been lying vacant and the recruitment process has not started.
