Gadag: A scam has been uncovered in the KPTCL Junior Assistant recruitment exam. According to sources, police have arrested two from Ganda for allegedly leaking the exam paper.

Belagavi Cyber Crime Police have arrested Vice Principal of Gadag Municipal College Maruthi Sonawane and his son Samit Kumar.

On Sunday August 7, the exam for recruiting KPTCL Junior assistants was held across the State, including at 21 test centres in the twin cities of Gadag and Bettageri. It included Gadag Municipal College. The father and son duo allegedly worked together to leak the exam questions.

Samit Kumar is alleged to have arrived at the municipal college examination centre before the test began while posing as a journalist. On his phone, he reportedly captured photos of the exam papers. The cyber authorities suspect that the pictures captured on the phone may have been sent to various test centres in the State. However, even after searches police are yet to find the mobile phone of the accused. According to sources, the police questioned the college’s Principal on Sunday.
