Gadag: An unfortunate incident unfolded in the Desai Pet area of the town, where a 5-year-old girl named Bhagyashree Kottagi was severely injured when suddenly attacked by a street dog. Playing in the front yard of her house, Bhagyashree was engrossed in her activities when the dog unexpectedly bit her on the upper part of her right eye, causing a grave injury. Local residents intervened, chasing the dog away to ensure the child’s safety.
The girl received initial treatment at a government hospital and has been subsequently transferred to Hubballi’s KIMS Hospital for further medical attention. The escalating incidents of street dog attacks in the city have led to mounting public frustration, with citizens expressing concern over the inaction of the municipal authorities and councillors, who seem to have turned a blind eye to the issue.
