Haveri: In a bid to provide timely bus facilities to school children, the Government will soon come up with a new scheme in private partnership. CM Basavaraj Bommai announced that a pilot project will be launched in Shiggaon Taluk.
Speaking after inaugurating various development works in Shiggaon Town, he said that the foundation stone of Jayadeva Institution in Hubballi at a cost of Rs 360 crore will be laid in January. A major unit of Kidwai Hospital will be set up in Belagavi. A new scheme has been launched to provide spectacles to those above the age of 60 years by conducting a complete eye check-up. It costs Rs. 5 to 8 lakh per person for aiding the deaf. The cost is being incurred and has been started this year itself for which Rs. 500 Crore has already been sanctioned. Five districts of the State including Haveri, have been selected for the Chief Minister’s Health Service.
He asserted “Our Government understands the problems of the people and is working towards them,” he said.
The upgradation of 100 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) into community health centres in the State is being done this year. More than 60 new Primary Health Centres are being opened. As amany as 12 new cancer treatment centres are being set up for the benefit of cancer patients. In December this year, 437 “Namma Clinics” will be opened. Minor health issues can be treated in these clinics, he said.
