In a tragic incident in Belagavi, allegations of murder have been leveled against a stepmother by the grandparents of the deceased child. However, the accused woman, identified as Sapna, vehemently denies these accusations, stating that the child, Samruddhi Rayanna Navi (4), passed away at Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital on Monday.

Samruddhi, a resident of Kangrali KH village in Belagavi taluk, was allegedly murdered, according to her grandfather, Sunil Hampannavar. However, Sapna has produced documents indicating that Samruddhi had been unwell for the past few days, suffering from vomiting, loose motion, and epilepsy. She reportedly succumbed to her illness during treatment at the District Hospital.

The deceased girl’s father, Rayanna, who works in the CRPF, confirmed his daughter’s health condition. A case will be registered based on the complaint filed by the father upon his arrival on Monday evening. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the APMC police station.

Additionally, Rayanna has also been accused of the murder of his first wife, adding a layer of complexity to the unfolding investigation.
