Vijayapura: Appealing to the Muslims to exercise restraint and not get provoked by any inflammatory acts of right wing elements, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson S. M. Patil Ganihar has said that since the elections are nearing in Karnataka right wingers will intensify such act of provocation to divide the society. “The objective is clear, they will first provoke Muslims, then create trouble and later polarise the society to help the BJP which is indirectly sponsoring such instigations,” he said.

Addressing media persons here on Monday April 18, he said while the act of instigation will continue in coming days too, Muslims should make sure that they do not get carried away and take law in to their hands. By doing so, the Muslims will only be playing into the hands of right wing people and allow them to easily achieve their objective, he said.

He also appealed the Muslim clerics to spread awareness on this matter and make sure that the Muslims follow law and adhere to Constitution when they are provoked. If the Muslims find something provocative, they should file a complaint with the police and follow the due course  of law. “Show that Muslims believe in following the law and Constitution,” he asserted.

Earlier with regard to the alleged suicide case of Contractor Santosh Patil where Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa has accused of abetment to suicide, Ganihar wondered why Eshwarappa has not been arrested so far.

Stating that already non-bailable case against Eshwarappa has been filed on charges of abetment to suicide which is a serious crime yet the police have not arrested him. “If the same case would have been filed against any common persons, the police would have arrested the accused long ago. Since it was the crime committed by the Former Minister of the BJP Government, the police is taking no action,” he said.
He demanded the CM and the Home Minister to order the police to arrest Eshwarappa.

Accusing BJP National General Secretary, C. T. Ravi of spreading canards on Islam and giving misleading information to defame Islam, Ganihar said that the Ravi is taking some verses of Quran out of context and giving false information about the religion.

“Ravi deliberately does not mention the context in which the verses mentioned in the holy book. If he does so, then he will get exposed, and therefore he refers only to those sections of the verses that suits his agenda of spreading misinformation about Islam,” he said.

Ganihar appealed to the CM not to support any act of instigation that creates disharmony in the State and keep control over such leaders.
