Vijayapura: Tremors were reported from several parts of the district and neighbouring districts in Maharashtra on the night of Thursday February 2 and the early hours of Friday.
The intensity of the tremor was recorded at 2.7 on the Richter scale. The earthquakes were felt around 10.05 pm on Thursday and at 1.47 am on Friday in the Tikota taluk’s Ghonasagi, Kakhakavatagi, Hubanur, Takkalaki, Somadevarahatti, and Siddapur
The earthquake was also reported from villages in Maharashtra.
People fled their houses out of fear as the earth shook.
