Vijayapura: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy died after he fell into a water storage tank (sump) in front of his house while playing at Kunchaganur Desai Building behind the Taluk Administration building in HUDCO layout of Muddebihal town.
Anand Nidoni, a resident of Kirishyala Village in Nidagundi Taluk, had been living here a couple of years ago with his wife and two sons to earn a living. The boy’s father, Anand, was a tenant in the building and worked in a bakery. The boy was outside while he was washing the vehicle. When his parents observed that he hadn’t come home for a long time, they searched everywhere but could not find him. Later, when they saw the jug floating in the tank, they got suspicious and called the fire brigade and informed them.
The boy was found dead inside the tank when the firefighters arrived
