Vijayapura: Describing the BJP and the Congress as the two faces of the same coin who have the internal understanding to win the election, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi called upon the Muslim in particular not to support both political organisations.

Addressing a large gathering as he had come to campaign for the party candidates for the coming City Corporation elections here, he said that for political gains, the Congress and the BJP have a tacit understanding. “BJP acts like it is against the Muslims and the Congress pretends it supports the Muslims. But in reality, they are playing games with the Muslims and making use of Muslims for their political advantage,” he said.

Taking on City MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal of the BJP, Owaisi referred to one of the statements of Yatnal where he reportedly said that by paying Rs. 2500 Crore, one could become Chief Minister in the BJP Government.

Owaisi wondered where Yatnal got such a huge amount to pay to the party for becoming CM.

“Does he (Yatnal) carry a magic lamp or does he have a big treasure that he uses to pay the money for becoming CM? I am asking this question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who calls himself a fakeer. How will he explain the statement of Yatnal,” he said.

The crowd kept cheering at every reference of Yatnal and Modi during the speech of Owaisi. At one point, Owaisi received chits from the audience requesting him to say something about Yatnal who is known for making controversial statements against Muslims.

Appealing to the voters to elect four of the party’s candidates in the coming elections, he announced he will come back to the City again with his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi after the elections.

Earlier, addressing a press conference, he took a jibe at Yatnal who frequently refers to Pakistan as to target Muslims. He took a jibe at Yatnal by stating that perhaps Yatnal has more love for Pakistan therefore, he takes the name of the country frequently.

“We are least bothered about Pakistan but Yatnal keeps referring to the name of Pakistan, maybe he has a special love for that country,” he said and wondered if he has been directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make reference to Pakistan frequently.
