Vijayapura: In a shocking incident, Haidar Nadaf, the husband of City Corporation Corporator, Nishat Nadaf of Ward 19 was shot dead in the city’s Chandpur Colony area on May 6 morning.
According to Jal Nagar police which has filed the case, some unknown assailants have killed Nadaf by pumping several bullets into his body.
The sources said that Nadaf died on the spot, however his body was later shifted to the District Government Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, speaking to the mediapersons, Superintendent of Police, H. D. Anand Kumar said that the police have filed the case and undertaken the investigation.
“We have registered the case and will launch the investigation to nab the culprits,” he said.
Putting an end to the rumours that the murder has some connection with the ongoing election, the SP made it clear that the incident is the result of personal rivalry and has nothing to do with the election.
“Let people not panic as the incident has nothing to do with election,” he said.
