Vijayapura: Four arrested for illegal supply of weapons

Vijayapura: The District Police have nabbed four persons accused of supplying illegal weapons in the district.

Informing about this at a press conference on Wednesday September 21, Superintendent of Police, H. D. Anand Kumar said that the accused Kiran Rugi and Kiran Gaikwad were involved in selling banned weapons such as pistols and live rounds. The accused were reportedly bringing the banned weapons from Madhya Pradesh to sell them in Bijapur to potential customers.

“On the confirmed information, the police visited Jamkhandi road in the city and nabbed two accused.

In a similar case, the police arrested two more accused of selling illegal weapons. Suresh Rathod and Vijay Rathod have been arrested. While three country-made pistols and four live rounds have been recovered from the first two accused, one pistol, one live round, a car and a machete have been recovered from the second accused.

Cases have been filed in Gandhi Chowk and Adarsh Nagar Police Stations respectively.

Kumar congratulated the police personnel who had successfully detected the case and arrested the accused.
