Vijayapura: Admitting that several BJP workers are upset with the party after the murder of the party’s Youth Wing Leader Praveen Nettaru, Water Resources Minister Govind Karjol has claimed that the ruling government has taken necessary steps to arrest the culprits.
Addressing mediapersons during his visit to the Airport site on Monday August 1, he said that the Government has even ordered for an NIA investigation in the case.
On the reports of several youth leaders of the party are resigning following the murder case, Karjol blamed the media for wrongly interpreting the incidents. He said that the party workers have vented their ire against the anti-national organisations and have demanded action against them. “Their anger is not against the Government or the BJP but against the anti-national outfits. The Government has not failed in any sense in this case. Since the Government has given the case to the NIA, the agency has already started an investigation in the matter,” said the Minister.
With regard to the 75th birthday celebration of Leader of the Opposition, Siddaramaiah, he downplayed the event by describing it as the programme limited only to a group of people. “A section in the Congress is not happy with the event which has openly expressed it in the media. The Congress is already a divided house as it has several factions in it,” he said.
On the speculations that the party is finding it hard to face the coming Assembly Polls under the leadership of Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, Karjol said that the former is a wise person and gives good governance by launching several development works.
