Vijayapura: The Maharashtra Government has completely ignored Kannada villages as it does not have the capacity to provide drinking water to Kannada villages on the soil of the state. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Campaign Committee President M. B. Patil said that in such a situation, Maharashtra leaders are trying to defame Kannadigas for political reasons.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday November 26, he said Kannadigas are living in a very bad condition in Kannada Villages located on the land of Maharashtra in the border of Karnataka State. The Maharashtra Government does not have the courtesy to respond despite fighting for Mahisha’s Lift Irrigation Project for the last four decades, he noted.

“We should not talk about it, but we should raise our voice for Kannadigas due to the behaviour of the Maharashtra leaders,” he said.

“Maharashtra leaders should give up the work of unnecessarily disturbing the linguistic harmony of Belagavi and Karwar. “Before making politically motivated provocative statements, they should plan and implement basic amenities like drinking water, roads, health, and education to kannadigas in their land,” he said.
