Vijayapura: A man, who was earlier a car driver of Vijayapura MP Ramesh Jigajinagi and currently driving an autorickshaw, was brutally murdered here on Wednesday January 18.
The deceased has been identified as Mallikarjun Doddamani (43), a resident of Jadara Oni.
Mallikarjun, who was a car driver near MP Ramesh Jiganajigi, had quit his job three years ago. He then drove an autorickshaw to earn a living. Recently, he had been wandering about without going to work.
On night of Wednesday, he had gone to drop his elder sister Shantamma at her house and was killed while on his way back from there. While the exact cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained, the family suspects that it could have been due to financial transactions.
