Vijayapura: The BJP which has apparently launched the poll campaign for the coming Assembly election to be held next year, has decided to hold events in the State to be headed by Party State President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

In this regard, he would be holding a tour of the District to prepare the party for the coming polls.

“Our State President Nalin Kumar Kateel is coming to Vijayapura District on September 27 to launch the poll campaign”, said District President R. S. Patil Kuchabal.

Informing this at a press conference, he said that the party is officially kick-starting its preparation for the forthcoming polls in as many as 52 Assembly segments from the next week across the State. Among them two following segments Basavana Bagewadi and Nagthan, which are represented by Congress and JD (S) respectively, have been opted from the district.

“The poll works will start from Nagathan segment, where the party workers meet and interaction with the people of the segment will be held at a private function hall in the outskirts of the City. Thereafter, Kateel will have lunch at Dalit’s house of the same segment on Tuesday September 27. In the afternoon, the party convention will be held at Basavana Bagewadi Town.”

“Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa will also be visiting 52 Assembly segments each in the State. The party has kick-started the preparations for the assembly segments. In these programmes, we will present the achievements of the Central and State Government before the people,” detailed Kuchabal.

When asked whether State Party Chief Kateel is having lunch at Dalit’s house to appease them as elections are nearing, Kuchabal said that, “The party leaders are not having lunch to appease Dalits. Even in the past few years, our senior leaders are frequently visiting the houses of Dalits and other oppressed communities in the society. BJP is committed for the upliftment of oppressed communities and making all the efforts to bring them to the mainstream.”

“Congress gave one of the worst governments under the headship of Siddaramaiah in the state. We will make all the irregularities reported in their regime public at the earliest. As they do not have any valid reasons to fight against the ruling party BJP they are carrying out fake campaigns like a 40 per cent commission government against the State Government. People will give them a befitting reply in the upcoming Assembly polls,” stated Kuchanal when asked about the grand-old-party campaign against the Chief Minister.

Karnataka State Lime Development Board Chairman Chandrashekar Kavatagimatha and other party workers were present.
