Vijayapura: Siddeshwara Seer death, schools & colleges closed

Vijayapura: The State Government on Monday January 2 announced a school holiday in the District on January 3 as a tribute to Seer Siddeshwara Swami.

Siddeshwara Swami (81), a renowned Seer and senior Lingayat pontiff passed away on January 2 after a prolonged illness.

Deputy Commissioner Vijaymahantesh Dannmmanavar stated that Siddeshwara Swamiji’s mortal remains will be kept at his Ashram till 8.00 am and then will be taken to Sainik School.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled his death. “Paramapujya Sri Siddheshwara Swami Ji will be remembered for his outstanding service to society. He worked tirelessly for the betterment of others and was also respected for his scholarly zeal. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with his countless devotees. Om Shanti,” wrote PM Modi on Twitter.
