Vijayapura: The District was hit by two earthquakes, each measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale within a span of 6 hours.
The tremors were reported on Friday October 28, around 9.47 pm in the Managuli area of Basavan Bagewadi Taluk. The earthquake occurred 10 km below the ground.
According to sources, the second quake hit Hanchanala village in the early hours of Saturday. The earthquake had a Richter scale magnitude of 2.8. The earthquake occurred 5 km below the ground.
There were no reported fatalities or property losses.
